This is a really cool camp, i learned so much from every day we were on the computer. i never knew that i could do all of this by myself. also i am most proud of figuring things out by myself, i felt more capable to do things on my own! i never animated on the computer before so this was so exciting to me. i struggled a little on the switching back grounds but after 2 days i finally figured it out with a little help. i tried lots of different ideas with walking and jumping, i got some ideas from other games to see how they work .i most of all liked working on drawing my sprite that was so much fun doing it on the computer because i never had drawn on the computer before. there were so many nice people in this camp i was really feeling relaxed. i like piking backgrounds for the game, the is so much to choose from! i want to come back next week maybe! i am so excited to do this at school, YAY!!!
my game takes place in a forest with a wolf that wants to get to the highest mountain in the forest and howl at the moon with her pack. i made my own character witch took a lot of time , but i think my animation turned out great. the wolf has blue eyes and dark grey fur and light grey highlights in its fur. the controls i have to move the character is the right and left arrow is for walking left or right. For jumping you press the space bar. i am trying to switch backgrounds when my wolf moves off the screen, that has been very difficult to solve. the backgrounds i used are all nature, so i used a hill that was by a sunrise witch i thought would be pretty. the second background i used was a swamp in a forest, the season looked like it was in the middle of summer. i hope my game will turn out
Right now i am working on changing backgrounds for my levels. i also want to work on making my character jump. and i want platforms for my character to jump on. i think i will have to change a little bit with my character, or my background. so i think thats really all i need to work on. :)
i used to be real bad at drawing on the computer but i got a lot of practice here! i wanted to draw a wolf so i did, i also wanted to make my wolf move when i press an arrow key. i was confused at first but my friend ella helped me, she was a little more advanced than me. i was just amazed what scratch could do. learned that you could also blend colors to make your character detailed. i think i learned a lot! :)
I played a lot of games but one of them seemed to catch my interest, the game i liked a lot is called wolf quest. the point of the game is that you have to survive as a wolf in the wild . you had to hunt other animals and keep away from predators. you also can meet other wolves and start a pack of your own.
