Favorite Parts of the Class
One of my favorite parts was just learning new things to do with 3D printing, and programs like Photoshop, but I also enjoyed the different projects that we did.
Things I Learnt
I learnt some new things that I could do with 3D printing, and I also learnt new things in Photoshop.
Things I'd Like to See at Nichols Next Year from this Class
First of all, I'd like to have Media Arts next year for eighth graders, and if they did, I'd like to do more things with 3D printing and stop motion.
Things to Add or Change for Next Week
One thing to do, would maybe be making the stop motion project shorter and adding in another project.
Today, our project was to design something to 3D print, for school spirit, but would also be useful. My design was for my school, Nichols Middle School. I decided, that because our mascot was the lion, I would have a lion paw for my design. The useful part about it, would be that after being 3D printed, you could put erasers into the holes, so that it could be used as an eraser. To add to this, in the top left corner I had a hole, so that the design could also be used as a keychain. In order to make my design, first I simply drew the paw with the holes. The next step was capturing my drawing on an iPad, and making it into a 3D image. After this, I brought the 3D image to Tinkercad, where I added the rectangle base, and hole for the keychain. After all of this, my design was complete.
