I finally finished my game! It's called Kimi World, where you can raise a mythical pet and explore the world. At the beginning, you get an egg from the Caregiver that hatches into a creature called a Flamex, a little fire guy. Once you feed him, he evolves into an adult, and you can explore the world of Kimi using the arrow keys. I'm really proud of my game because it's the most complex project I've ever done on Scratch, even if it's very simple.

In Scratch, I already have the whole beginning down. The player will start by listening to the Caregiver's explanation. The Caregiver is a lady with brown hair dressed in a silver cloak. Then, the player will receive a red and orange egg that will hatch into a Flamex, a little orange wolf-like creature with fire on its head and tail. Later, they will be able to play with it and feed it, allowing it to grow into an adult.
Today, I'm going to start coding. I'm going to do a rough sketch of the eggs and code the first scene. I want the Caregiver to introduce herself, give the player information on what they have to do, and give them an egg. I know how to make her say stuff, but I don't know how to make the eggs clickable. I think I'm going to look at examples and figure it out myself.
I think I've accomplished a lot today. I figured out what my game will be about, and learned a lot about Scratch. My game will be a RPG where you raise mythical animals. You will be able to raise 3 eggs that you receive from the Caregiver, and earn medals and prizes. I didn't start coding yet, but I finished drawing the Caregiver on Photoshop. The Caregiver is a young woman dressed in a silver cloak. At the beginning of the game, she will introduce herself and give you a pet. Then, when you raise it to adulthood, you get the second pet, then the third. Here is the Caregiver:
We have been browsing games on Scratch, and so far I have several favorites. I really liked The Impossible Game, because it had smooth animation and it was like a real video game. It also had a leader board, and different levels, which I thought was really cool. The goal of the game was to jump over spikes using the up arrow key and survive as long as possible, but it had a lot of other obstacles, like platforms and holes. I didn't find many good RPGs, but there where a lot of other cool games. ^U^ I have a lot of great ideas for this class! One of my favorite games is Dragon Cave, a RPG (role play game) where you're a dragon trainer collecting eggs. You can grow your dragons to adulthood by sharing them on click sites, websites specially designed to share your eggs and hatchlings so other users can view them. I love games where you can raise pets, so I think I'm going to make one of these on Scratch. :D |
